HAUGG develops radiators for the Mercedes SL (R 107)

We are delighted that HAUGG will be manufacturing water radiators for the legendary Mercedes 300 SL (R 107) on behalf of Mercedes Heritage from 2025. As the original radiator is no longer available, Mercedes Heritage has chosen HAUGG as a development partner to develop this important spare part in original quality. Based on an assembly drawing in 2D, re-engineering was carried out at considerable expense. First, a 3D model was generated based on the 2D drawing, which had to be meticulously reworked in almost every detail. Subsequently, individual part drawings had to be created and tools developed for the production of various individual parts. Finally, the 3D model is compared with the sample cooler.
Theoretically, it is also possible to scan a sample, but many details are missing from the scanned model as only the outer contours are captured.

As experienced experts in radiator production and a partner of Mercedes-Benz for over 100 years, we contribute our knowledge and technologies to the development process to ensure an exact replica of the original part. Our many years of experience with vehicles such as the Mercedes MB Trac, Rundhauber and even historic models such as a Benz Gaggenau from 1925 demonstrate our extensive expertise in the reproduction of sophisticated radiators.

We are proud to be part of this project.
